Grid Structured Packings

Multiple grid structured packings are vertically connected in series to form flow baffles in hydraulic flocculation tanks to enhance flocculation reactions. Water flows sequentially through a series of grid structured packings in an alternating upward and downward pathway until it reaches the outlet of flocculation tanks. A typical hydraulic flocculation tank is divided into three sections: the front section contains most grid structured packings, the middle section contains fewer, and the final section usually has none. Flow speed gradually decreases in this direction;

FEATURES

  • The packing structure are uniformly arranged, ensuring even dissipation of kinetic energy in the liquid throughout the hydraulic flocculation tanks. As the water passes through multiple layers of grid structured packings, the flocs undergo repeated and uniform collisions. This effectively squeezes out the trapped water within the flocs, resulting in the formation of more compact and denser flocs;

  • The packings feature energy saving and low head loss.

  • ABS grids (bars) are corrosion‑resistant and high‑strength;

  • Aesthetically pleasing, long service life, easy and convenient installation and removal;

  • No algae growth, strong adaptability to variations in water quality and flow rate, excellent flocculation performance.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • The hydraulic flocculation tank using these grid structured packings is typically designed to have three sections:

    Section 1 has a flow velocity through grid structured packings of 0.30 to 0.25 m/s;

    Section 2 has a flow velocity through grid structured packings of 0.25 to 0.22 m/s;

    Section 3 has the highest flow velocity as there is no packings installed.

  • Each section has 2 to 3 layers of grid structured packings; a typical hydraulic retention time for these types of hydraulic flocculation is 10 to 20 mins in total;

  • Customized fabrication is available upon customer design requirements.
